"When you teach what you love and share what you know, you open eyes, minds, hearts, and souls to unexplored worlds..." - Unknown
I am a supply teacher for a school board located in Southern Ontario. The beauty about my job is that I get to teach is a different classroom every day. I experience different behaviour management techniques, a variety of ways to teach a topic, and witness incredible projects on the go. Every day I learn something new! I completed my final year in the Concurrent Education Junior/Intermediate program at Brock University in 2016. I have been pursuing teaching from the beginning of my post-secondary education experience. Teaching is my passion and I strive to produce a learning environment that is engaging and meaningful to my students. I am constantly discovering and exploring ways to integrate the Arts across all subject areas. The Arts provides valuable opportunities for students to express themselves and their learning. I strongly believe in the implementation of a creative approach to teaching and learning. My goal, as a teacher, is to foster a growth mindset in which learning is a process and students believe in themselves and their successes. No student should feel like their knowledge or skill set is limited. I want to help my students to move away from this fixed mindset and implement a program that will help students acknowledge and reach their full academic potential and beyond.
